OPENING CO LOA FESTIVAL IN THE SPRING CANH TÝ 2020

This morning, January 30, 2020 (January 6th lunar New Year), at the  courtyard of Thượng temple where King An Duong Vuong is worshipped, the People's Committee of Dong Anh district, the People's Committee of Co Loa commune in collaboration with Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, Management Department of Co Loa  vestige site held the opening ceremony of the Co Loa traditional Festival in the Spring Canh Tý 2020. Attended the ceremony with the presence of  leaders of Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, Hanoi Tourism Department, District Party Committee - Dong Anh District People's Committee, District Party Committee - Dien Chau District People's Committee, Party Committee - Dien Chau Commune People's Committee, Delegates of Districts in Hanoi City, representatives of government, departments and unions of 24 communes and towns of Dong Anh district and many local people and visitors from all over the worl.

Opening Co Loa Festival Spring  Canh Tý 2020

Co Loa Festival or "Bát xã Hộ Nhi festival" takes place annually from the 6th to the 18th of January, Lunar New Year  to commemorate the merits of King An Duong Vuong, who had the merit of merging the Au Viet - Lac Viet tribes and  founding the kingdom of Âu Lạc (the 3rd century BC) from the early days of building and defending the nation.

Co Loa Festival is one of the famous festivals in the Northern Delta and deeply reflects the root and traditions of the struggle to build and defend heroically the country of Vietnam through the history of thousands of years .  Rites of Sacrifice - Ceremony - Procession, folk games in the festival are performed, preserved and promoted the cultural heritage values of Co Loa, contributing to "... building an advanced culture deeply imbued with national identity…".
