ADDITIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATION EXPECTED LOCATION TO BUILD NGO QUYEN TEMPLE AT CO LOA VESTIGE SITE

Implementing Decision No. 1413/QD-BVHTTDL dated June 1, 2023 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on archaeological excavation. On June 10, 2023, Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, Institute of Archeology, Dong Anh District People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for additional archaeological excavations at the expected location of the Ngo Quyen temple in the special national relic Co Loa, Co Loa commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city.

- Expected excavation time: From June 10, 2023 to August 20, 2023.

- Excavation area: 100m2.

- Head of excavation team: Mr. Trinh Hoang Hiep, Institute of Archeology.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism suggested that during excavation, implementing agencies need to protect the stratigraphy of the archaeological dig site; propagate the protection of cultural heritage to local people, and announce the official conclusions only with the agreement of the management agency and the Department of Cultural Heritage. The artifacts collected during the excavation process, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center is responsible for preserving.

After excavation, make a preliminary report and propose a plan for management and protection of the excavated area within one month and a scientific report within one year, and submitted it to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Before announcing the results of the excavation, the agency that is granted the permit shall discuss and agree with the Department of Cultural Heritage.
