According to a local folklore written in the book " Ngọc phả cổ lục ", 7th of the third month of the lunar calendar is the day “the King pass away" also known as the day of the death of King An Duong Vuong who built the country in the third century BC. His merits was recognized  by the feudal dynasties and he is also worshipped by local people at Thuong temple of  Co Loa  Vestige site in Co Loa commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city.

Co Loa is a land marked with many national historical and cultural values. After the establishment of the Au Lac Kingdom, King An Duong Vuong chose Co Loa to be the capital and built a famous military base which has been rated as "the oldest and largest citadel and one of the most unique structures in the history of building our country's citadels ” by archaeologists. The birth of Au Lac has left an important mark in the development process of the nation's history, expressing the vision of a strategic politician who moved the capital from the midland regions to the delta for national economic development and construction. Co Loa became a political, economic and cultural center, known for its citadel ,  military citadel, urbanization. With the solidarity of the army and local people, combined with unique strategy of defending and attacking, An Duong Vuong repeatedly defeated the invasion of Trieu Da army.

Currently, at the Co Loa relic site , there are still many “đạo sắc phong” of Le and Nguyen dynasties (from the seventeenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century) bestowed upon Co Loa commune to worship King An Duong Vuong such as: "In the past, we have worshiped a person named Thuc An Duong Vuong, who was honored by the royal court, so worshiping as before is allowed to show respect". At the same time, all the dignitaries worshiped An Duong Vuong, a king who helped building and defending the nation. Among the edicts compiled on April 20th, the 1st  of Duc Long year (year 1629), there is a paragraph describing An Duong Vuong  as "a talented man in the world, sending

troops to shoot crossbow make powerful, shining like a long time trying to make a career,  helping the country to be stable, maintaining the Vietnamese land, clearly showing his spirit, his work is great ". The merits of King An Duong Vuong are also praised in written form at Thuong Temple.

Đế tĩnh sơn hà, thiên sinh hùng vĩ, Âu Lạc khải phong, Côn Luân triệu địa, uy chấn viêm giao, công thùy thanh sử.

Thành quách do tồn, nhân tâm vô dị, miếu mạo nguy nga, trường lưu thiên địa.

Translated:

To secure the whole country, expanding Au Lac and Con Luan to  good lands, imposing the South country reputation,were merits written in history.

The Citadels still exist, people's hearts have not changed, the temples are majestic and will stay forever.

To thank the ancestors and  remind us of our traditions and origins. At the   occasion of   Death anniversary of King An Duong Vuong on March 7, the year of the Rat (2020), Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center ,  Management Department of Co Loa vestige site respectfully lit incense to commemorate King An Duong Vuong at Thuong Temple at Co Loa Vestige site, Co Loa commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city.
