Ngô Quyền with a glorious victory that defeated the Southern Han army in the famous Battle of Bạch Đằng in 938, ending more than 1000 years of Northern domination, opening a long period of independence of Vietnam. In the spring of 939, Ngô Quyền carried out the construction of an independent government, gave up the position “Tiết độ sứ”, proclaimed himself King, and settled in Cổ Loa - the capital of the Âu Lạc state under An Duong Vuong.
Over the past 1083 years, to pay respects and remember the first King of our country – Ancestor of the National Renaissance thereby promoting patriotism, a sense of self-reliance, and construction a rich and strong Vietnam, worthy of the resilient tradition of forefathers, District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Đông Anh district, Cổ Loa Commune People's Committee in collaboration with Thăng Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, Management Department of Cổ Loa Vestige Site organized propaganda activities and music programs to celebrate the 1083th anniversary of Ngô Quyền proclaimed King and settled the capital at Cổ Loa (939-2022).
