Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mrs. Nguyễn Hồng Chi – Deputy Director of the Thăng Long – Hà Nội Heritage Conservation Center – stated: “Cổ Loa, a land enriched by thousands of years of cultural layers, is not only renowned for its ancient citadel associated with the era of King An Dương Vương, but also for its diverse and enduring intangible cultural heritage, passed down through generations. These values are vividly expressed in traditional festivals, in the worship of An Dương Vương, in folk performing arts, customs, rituals, and the daily life of the local community. Meeting multiple criteria regarding Outstanding Universal Value (OUV), integrity, continuity, and authenticity as defined in UNESCO’s Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention, on November 13, 2025, the Hanoi People’s Committee officially submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to seek approval from the Prime Minister for developing a nomination dossier for the Cổ Loa Relic Site to be submitted to UNESCO for inscription on the World Heritage List.”
With the theme “Resounding Heritage – Colors of Cổ Loa Intangible Culture,” the exhibition is a meaningful event that continues to honor, promote, and spread the immense value of Cổ Loa’s intangible cultural heritage – the sacred land preserving the legends of the nation’s founding and defense. The exhibition also contributes to fostering pride, love for the homeland, and a sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting cultural heritage values, ensuring that heritage remains not only a memory of the past but also a precious spiritual resource for sustainable development today and in the future.
