On the afternoon of February 2, 2025 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Snake Ất Tỵ), at the Cổ Loa Special National Relic Site, the procession rite of Lady Mỵ Châu’s palanquin took place, starting from Ngự Triều Di Quy Communal House – the shrine dedicated to Lady Mỵ Châu – to Đền Thượng to attend the royal court of her father, King An Dương Vương, at the Dragon Courtyard. This is a significant and unique rite, marking the beginning of the series of palanquin processions of the Eight Villages during the Cổ Loa Festival, embodying deep spiritual beliefs and the cultural traditions of the nation.
Participants in the procession included the Lady’s palanquin team, musical troupes, dance and ritual performance teams, and local community groups of Cổ Loa Commune. In the lively atmosphere filled with the resounding rhythms of drums, gongs, and various musical instruments, the procession route—though short—evoked in every resident and visitor a profound sense of solemnity, reverence, and sacredness.

The procession rite of Lady Mỵ Châu’s palanquin is an indispensable part of the ritual practices of the Cổ Loa Festival. It carries great cultural and historical value and serves as an opportunity for locals and visitors to explore the legends, beliefs, and distinctive cultural heritage of the Cổ Loa region.
